Plungie Crowning Glory on Significant Canberra Redevelopment

Recently, on a cold Canberra morning, we found ourselves on a street corner as a Plungie Studio was being lifted up to the 7th floor of Hindmarsh Construction’s redevelopment at 71 Constitution Avenue — a mere stroll away from the iconic Anzac Parade, overlooking Lake Burley Griffin.

Hindmarsh Construction are a family owned and operated business with a history stretching back over 40 years and a portfolio boasting over $6 billion worth of completed projects across Australia.  But – even with such a history, the 71 Constitution Avenue development holds a special place in the hearts of Hindmarsh.

This is because 71 Constitution Avenue is actually a redevelopment of Hindmarsh Construction’s original head office, turning what was once the beating heart of the organisation into 73 luxurious 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments.

In the words of Grant Rootsey, site manager for the redevelopment, “It’s a legacy project, quite important to the company.”

So, with the redevelopment carrying more meaning than the average build, what better way to crown their achievement than with the installation of a stunning Plungie plunge pool?

We guess you could say, the Plungie install was quite literally the cherry on top of the redevelopment.

Hindmarsh are one of many developers using Plungie as a way to revolutionise rooftop spaces into something luxurious yet infinitely practical and liveable. For example, Brisbane luxury developer, Graya, used Plungie in their New Farm development earlier this year —a project that was so successful, Graya have again partnered with Plungie for their next luxury development in the city with more plans for rooftop Plungies.

However, it is perhaps this Canberra rooftop installation that carries an extra level of meaning, with the completed redevelopment tipped to stand as a homage to Hindmarsh’s legacy of quality and innovation.

Indeed, the Plungie product lends itself as an innovative solution to the many challenges modern builders and developers face; those of space, lead times and simplicity.

Grant spoke further to the simplicity of working with Plungie, noting that the process “was quite easy.”

“Once the crane arrived to site, it was a matter of hooking the chains up to the lifers on the pool and, within a couple of minutes, it was up and in place on level 7,” continued Grant.

In a process that has traditionally taken several weeks or even months, this rooftop pool was installed in a single morning and in mere minutes.

For builders and developers of any size, Plungie is a unique solution to many of the problems you face, offering shorter lead timeframes, less time spent on site and a versatile product that can be applied to everything, from luxury rooftop installations to practical suburban backyard pools.

A massive congratulations to the Hindmarsh team from everyone here at Plungie. We are confident this is just the beginning of our journey together, and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.
